Born in Vancouver, Canada and now based in Los Angeles, Ilanna is an internationally awarded writer, director and photographer.

Her creative journey originated in the action sports industry, capturing athletes in the mountains with her camera in tow while completing her Bachelor of Arts at the University of British Columbia.

Through her work, she unifies dynamic movement with uplifting storytelling, leading her to collaborate with commercial clients such as Red Bull, Roxy, the LA Clippers, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Harvard Business Review. Her films have screened in competition at Academy Award-qualifying festivals globally, including the San Francisco International Film Festival and DOC NYC. She is currently in development on her first narrative feature film, with support from Canada Council for the Arts.

Ilanna is passionate about being involved in the creative community, previously on the board of directors for the west coast chapter of The One Club For Creativity, as well as judging for the ADC Awards and ONE Screen. She was recognized with the silver award for New Director of the Year by shots in spring 2024.
